I said contest, didn’t I?

The above image is a poster of Waiting Out Winter. 2 feet by 3 feet. Full text. Completely legible. Bottom right corner just waiting for a signature.

How do you get one? Well… you win it, silly.

If you already owned Waiting Out Winter and downloaded a free one just to show your support. Raise your hand.

If you downloaded one and got a friend to do the same. Raise your hand.

If you were somehow directly responsible for multiple downloads… simply say so in the comments here. i.e. owned already, made friends get it, told my kids I’d disown them if they didn’t. However you managed to be responsible, let me know. And then tell me why… Just to show your support? Dug the story? Hoping for a date? What was your reason for doing this…

And don’t worry if you haven’t yet…you’ve got until midnight, then the sale is over. I’ll draw the winner from the responses posted here (NOT on twitter or facebook—gotta simplify it somehow).

Cool poster, eh? Thanks to the hippie for that. Now then… who wants it?!

Does pre-reading it, buying a copy, and raving about it to others count? :)

  • OOOOH! ME! Picked up a copy at Horrorfind ’10…posted the link around and reviewed it a couple times…(pretty sure the last time I posted it may have sold a copy of THE NEIGHBORHOOD). Was *going* to have a local store pick up several for some shelf space they were going to let me curate, before that went all to shit. And downloaded the free copy, of course.

Really liked the story, is all. I simply wouldn’t be that fun a date after trying to explain it to the wife. =P

Loved Waiting Out Winter (rated it 4.5 / 5 on LibraryThing) so went out and got The Neighbourhood which I enjoyed so will be looking to buy any of your new books released in the UK.

Also got my fiancée to download a copy recently to read while she’s off from work on the computer (she doesn’t have a Kindle).

Also I linked your Facebook post regarding the Waiting Out Winter sale on my wall for other book addicts to read.

A date? That’s an option? Seriously, it’s the fly. That does it. Well, and your unique presentation. Thanks in advance if chosen, but regardless, thank you for making such fun prose available to the masses. Creativity is the best. -D

Downloaded a copy, even though I already read it. No idea if I’ve gotten anyone to buy a copy, but I have promoted it on Facebook and stuff.

Throwing myself into the contest pool because you told me too! (Kelli Owen!) I read your book, “Waiting Out Winter” and posted a review on Amazon. I really like your writing style! Hoping to one day be a published author myself.
